"Communicating science with non-scientists"
Communicating science is crucial if we want the public to understand the basics of science so they would be able to make informed decisions about important issues such as their health or changes in the environment. As a researcher, you are an expert in your field of research, and you can easily communicate with your peers about your research and findings. But could you explain your research to an 11-year-old student? How about a potential funder? Would a science reporter or TV presenter consider your research worth presenting to a wider audience? This short workshop will give you practical advice on how to make the most of the communication tools and opportunities available to successfully engage with your audience.
